The
club is situated in a town with an approximate population
136486.the town, which is known for its holiness, contains
various famous religious centers such as Sri Ramanasram
and other meditation centers. The town is one of the
important tourist destinations attracting people from
all over the world . The central attention of the town
is the spacious ‘Lord Arunachaleswara’ temple
,which is situated in front of a huge mountain . The
space of the temple area measures around 25 acres .
During every full moon day ,millions of people from
all over India throng to circumambulate the 16kms circumferential
mountain as a religious rite . |

Besides
this ‘lord Arunachaleswara’ temple ,another
temple similar to that one in design and construction
is also found . Adding further grandeur to the town
,hundreds of small temples and ponds are also found
on the skills ,whose antiquity and artistry are notable
for their historical importance . |

Railway station and excellent bus facilities to reach
this town within four hours from the cities like Chennai,
Trichy are available. |

‘Rotary
Club of Moon City, Thiruvannamalai’ contains all
the outstanding features to be embedded in the rotary
history .It was founded in the year 2005 with 25 members
who were from the 48 member Rotary Club of Thiruvannamalai
. Among the 25 members ,five were past Presidents of
the Rotary Club known for their commendable performances
like building schools ,health camps and other social
services. The Rotary Club of Moon City obtained Charter
on 21st December 2005. |

Mr
.S.Ravindran served as the Charter President during
2005 – 2006 and Dr.N.Somasundaram ,ophthalmologist
during 2006 – 2007 . Followed by them , at present
is , Dr.M.A.ravi, a renowned Acupuncturist for the tenure
of 2007-2008. |
